    What's Next?
    Phone: 619) 232-2727 x 102
    Location: San Diego, CA

What’s Next? is a mentoring program bringing together young people with physical disabilities and adults with similar disabilities who are living active, full -- successful -- lives in the San Diego community.

Mentors and mentees enjoy one-on-one time within a social group environment and by phone and email. Two Saturdays a month we get together for fun, sharing of experiences and presentations on topics ranging from independent living to interviewing for a job.

We want young people with physical disabilities -- and their families -- to see that life with a disability can be interesting and rewarding. Mentees need to realize that they can go to college and/or work.

We have structured and staffed What's Next? so that everywhere our young people look, they see adults with disabilities in leadership roles. We are always looking for adults with disabilities to volunteer as mentors. We prefer mentors to have successful work experience and some postsecondary education.

We also are interested in finding volunteer opportunities for the youth in our program. Many of them enjoy helping with projects and value the skills they gain in serving.

For more information please contact Suzanne Stolz, What's Next Mentoring Program Curriculum Specialist, at 619-232-2727 x 102
